Tour Overview

This carefully designed 8 Days Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara Lodge Safari by Kibo Trips African Safaris, based in Arusha, Tanzania, invites you into the living heart of Africa. Across eight memorable days, you will explore ancient baobab landscapes, endless golden plains, volcanic highlands, lush forests, and some of the richest wildlife habitats on Earth.

This Northern Tanzania lodge safari combines four iconic destinations: Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara National Park. The itinerary is designed for travellers who want a well paced safari with comfortable lodge accommodation, rewarding game drives, beautiful scenery, and enough time to appreciate each destination.

Your journey begins in Arusha, Tanzania’s safari capital, set beneath the slopes of Mount Meru and surrounded by coffee farms, green hills, and welcoming communities. After resting from your international journey, you will begin your adventure toward Tarangire National Park.

Covering approximately 2,850 square kilometres, Tarangire is famous for its enormous elephant families, ancient baobab trees, open savannahs, seasonal wetlands, and the permanent Tarangire River. During the dry season, animals gather near the river in large numbers, creating excellent opportunities to observe elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, antelopes, lions, leopards, and hundreds of bird species.

From Tarangire, you will travel through the scenic Karatu Highlands and Ngorongoro Conservation Area before entering the legendary Serengeti National Park. Covering approximately 14,763 square kilometres, the Serengeti is Tanzania’s oldest national park and one of the world’s greatest wildlife destinations.

The Serengeti is internationally celebrated for the Great Wildebeest Migration, when immense herds of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles move across the ecosystem in search of fresh grazing and water. Although the migration’s location changes seasonally, the park offers exceptional wildlife viewing throughout the year, with healthy populations of lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, hyenas, antelopes, and more than 500 bird species.

A full day in the Serengeti gives you time to follow wildlife movements, explore the productive Seronera region, search for predators around rocky kopjes, and enjoy unhurried photographic opportunities across the endless plains.

Your safari then continues into the dramatic Ngorongoro Conservation Area, home to volcanic highlands, Maasai communities, wildlife rich grasslands, and the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater. The crater is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, with walls rising approximately 600 metres above a floor covering around 260 square kilometres.

Permanent water, grasslands, forests, wetlands, and soda lakes support an estimated 25,000 large mammals. A game drive inside the crater offers excellent opportunities to see lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, hyenas, gazelles, and the endangered black rhinoceros.

After your crater safari, you will relax in Karatu, a peaceful highland town surrounded by farms, coffee plantations, and rolling green scenery. From here, the journey continues to Lake Manyara National Park, set beneath the dramatic Great Rift Valley Escarpment.

Lake Manyara is known for its lush groundwater forest, large baboon troops, elephants, hippos, colourful birdlife, and the possibility of spotting its famous tree climbing lions. With more than 400 recorded bird species, it is also one of Northern Tanzania’s finest birdwatching destinations.

Throughout the safari, you will travel in a comfortable 4×4 safari Land Cruiser with a pop up roof, guided by an experienced professional from Kibo Trips African Safaris. Carefully selected lodges, warm hospitality, delicious meals, and peaceful wilderness settings will provide comfort after every day of exploration.

This safari is ideal for couples, families, photographers, solo travellers, and small groups seeking an unforgettable Tanzania safari experience. You will return home carrying more than photographs. You will remember the silence of the plains, the colours of African sunsets, the distant calls of lions, and the feeling of witnessing nature at its most magnificent.
